Thriller in Conahy

The senior hurlers light up Jenkinstown on friday, with a controlled and committed performance to defeat James Stephens by 0-15 to 0-13, This victory was built on a foundation of solid defending, fine link play by the midfielders and an attack that carried a real threat.

They made their intent clear from the start, the Owens brothers combining for the opening point, with Anthony on target. Anthony doubled his tally following a neat pass from Peader Boran. The third point came when Conor Fogarty intecepted a puck out, found Ronan Ryan who drove through the middle to land a fine point. Damien Fogarty capitalised on more good forward play converting a 65,Eoin Larkin replied with a point to open his sides account, Damien responded by converting a fine free from his own half, , he followed this up by winning the resulting puck out and driving the ball back over the village bar to bring the  sides to the quarter hour mark with ‘Comer enjoying a 0-6 to 0-1 advantage.

James Stephens rallied taking the next two scores courtesy of a David Walton 65 and a Jackie Tyrell point. Michael Owens responded with a point, after receiving a Ronan Ryan hand pass.
