U-8 Blitz
Â
Erins Own hosted Under 8’s from James Stephens, St Lachtains and Clara at a warm and dry Ballycomey on Saturday morning. We were beaten in our first game by the Village boys by the odd score in seven in a very competitive match highlighted by some great defending in the first half by James Kenny, Adam Stone and goalie Luca Downey. A draw was missed out on when a 60 yard score from a puckout by Ashley Kerr had to be disallowd under U8 rules. Our second game was against St Lachtains and we ran out comfortable winners with strong midfield play from Shane Coogan and Liam Doyle and good performances from Ciaran Meagher and James Hogan in the forwards. Our final game against Clara was very competitive with the sides level at 2-02 a piece with 5 minutes to go until a quick goal and a point from Luca Downey followed a couple of late goals saw the Comer boys home.
