Contested against Dunammaggin NS ,Castlecomer new they were in for tough match. Dunammaggin started quickly and had the first score on the board with a point. This followed shortly after with a goal before comer responded with a point of there own.The first half was tight and tense with all the skills of gaelic football on display.Comer started to get there game going with the midfield making there presence felt with a couple more points and the defence holding strong.Comer scored a brilliant goal but going into half time found themselves a point down.

This was unfamiliar territory for these boys who had not had to come from behind at half time in any of their matches to win. Dunammaggin were playing really well and had the momentum.

At half time Comer regrouped and were determined to put in a winning second half.Despite this Dunnammaggin scored the first point straight after half time to increase there lead to 2 points.Comer new they had to respond and respond they did scoring another goal and 3 points whilst holding Dunnammaggin scoreless for the rest of the match. From this point on supported by an enthusiastic crowd of comer supporters and an outstanding defensive display who repelled and rebounded the opposition attacks allowing the midfield and forwards to take further control of the match and go on and win by 4 points with a score of 2-6 to 1-5. It was a tough ,hard pyhsical battle.
The final whistle blew  and the exitement and celebrations began. This was a great win for the boys, there schools, the parish, there parents and above all for football. Presentation of the cup and medals took place in front of very proud and happy parents and supporters.
