U 14 Hurling League Roinn A County Final 2014

O’Loughlins; 5-12

Erin’s Own; 1-14

O’Loughlins deservedly won this final after a very entertaining match played in a well appointed Jenkinstowm Pitch. O’Loughlins got off to a whirlwind start and were 3-1 to 0-0 up after only 8 minutes following a series of unfortunate errors by a nervous Erin’s Own defense. From that point to the end, the match went back and forth and the Comer lads played excellently, only to always rue the starting few minutes. By mid second half the lead was down to 5 points with the the O’Loughlins goal under siege. Despite all the effort, our lads came up short in the end and can only be commended right across the board for their willingness to fight to the very end – a genuine virtue for anyone to have. There will be brighter days ahead for this group of players.
