Community Social

Erin’s Own had a wonderful social night in Langtons last Friday Night. The crowd were treated to a beautiful meal followed by comedian Joe Rooney who set the tone for the night with a great performance, followed by the fabulous Big Uptown Big Band till late. There were a number of presentations to representatives of County Panels and a special presentation to Josephine Holland on behalf of the Ladies Football Committee as an acknowledgement of the terrific work she has undertaken and achieved since the formation of the Gaelic for mothers. Overall this was a great night and well done to all who organised it and attented.

First Aid Course.
The club organised its second first Aid Course for all club coaches/members last Saturday in the club rooms in Ballycomey. The club now has over 20 members who are qualified in First Aid now. Well done to all and there will be a presentation of all certificates for those who qualified shortly.

Fantasy Cheltenham.
The 3rd Annual Fantasy Cheltenham fundraiser run by Erin’s Own GAA Club is now getting closer and closer with only just over twenty days to the off. For €20.00 you have an interest in sixteen races over the first four days of Cheltenham and with a prize fund of €6,000.00 you are in with a great chance of picking up some winnings. The club have set out ambitious plans in their recent Strategic Plan and the Cheltenham Fundraiser goes directly to future development work at Ballycomey and the Prince Grounds. We would ask all members and supporters to buy a Fantasy Cheltenham ticket from any of the promoters.
