Erin’€™s Own U8 Blitz 14th July

Erin’€™s Own ran a mini blitz with Graigue/Ballycallan, Danesfort and St Lachtains on Saturday the 14th July in Castlecomer. All teams got 3 games and the standard of hurling especially the ground hurling was exceptional.
Graigue/Ballycallan were the strongest on the day with 2 wins and 1 draw. All the matches were close and a puck of a ball was all between winning and losing. For Erins Own all the boys played really well with John Kenny outstanding and well supported by Shane Holden and Michael Brennan. Joey Ryan put his body on the line at times to prevent certain scores.Ewan Connery played well in attack and was helped by David Allen, Eoin Nolan and James Coogan. The defence was led by James Kenny, Joey Rowe, Eoghan Moore and Evan Harding. Michael Rowe and Kiel Smyth worked hard to keep the ball moving through midfield. The weather on the day was great and the pitches were in superb condition. It is great to see the boys performing all the skills and with all the training and coaching that is going on at the very young ages in the club the future looks really good for the club at juvenile level. Well done to the coaches and all the players from all the clubs.

Afterwards all the players were treated to refreshments afterwards.
Many thanks to all clubs for their support and thanks to our under 14 and under 16 hurlers Conor Delaney,Niall McMahon and Sean Buggy for refereeing.
