NOTES FOR ERIN’S OWN GAA CLUB FOR WEDNESDAY 25th April

Club Lotto. The club lotto is now up to €12,650.00. Be in to win. Get your tickets from any committee members or from local shops. You can also sign up to a direct debit scheme whereby you are entered every week in the Local lotto so you don’t have to worry about getting your ticket. Contact Helen at 087 6645022 or any committee member if you would like to take up this way to play the local lotto. Remeber all the money raised goes back into your community.

Juvenile Hurling
The under 6,8 and 10s continue with their outdoor training every Thursday at 6.30pm in Ballycomey. Any boys and girls interested in taking up hurling as a sport are most welcome to come along and join in the fun where parents can be assured their child will receive a great welcome and great coaching.

Schools Hurling.
The Primary school hurling team are motoring very well in the Cumann na mBunscoil Roinn B league with three wins out of three games so far. The boys have a busy few weeks ahead of themselves with a match every week and sometimes two games. Hopefully they can continue on their winning ways and progress to the knockout stages later in the school year.

Development Squads.
Erin?s Own have a number of boys involved with the Kilkenny Development squads from under 14 up to under 17. These boys will get excellent coaching and a chance to make the Kilkenny teams later during the summer for tournaments around the country. We wish all the boys involved good luck and hopefully this experience will make them into better players.

Under 16 Erin?s Own Tournament.
This weekend sees the club run its first juvenile tournament of the year when it stages the Annual Jim Buggy under 16 Hurling Tournament in Ballycomey this Saturday. The action starts at 11am and the local boys will host         Callan, Conahy and St. Martin?s. All support welcome. On the following Saturday the club will host the Annual Under 14 Tara Ryan Tournament.

Senior Hurling.
Best wishes go to our Senior Hurlers who commence their Senior Hurling League/Championship this Sunday when the take on Dicksboro in the first round in Freshford Sunday at 2pm. All in the club wish the lads well for the coming year.

Junior Hurling.
The junior hurlers went down to a much stronger Bennetsbridge in the Junior League on Friday evening last in cold and wet Bennetsbridge. Comer statrted well and went to the break only two points down. It was pretty even for the start of the second half, However as the game entered the last quarter the Bridge lads pushed on and with the help of a couple of goals they ran out winners by seven points.

Membership. Erin’s Own membership for all players including Juvenile up to Adult players and general membership are now being taken up . Contact any committee member.
