Junior Hurling League
Erin’s Own travelled to Lisdowney on Wednesday evening last to take on the locals in the last round of the All County League. The Comer lads were slow to get out of the blocks and the fast moving Lisdowney forwards knocked over some smashing points to take an early lead. At half time Lisdowney were in front on a score line of 0-10 to 1-4. Comer made some positional changes at half time with the moving of veteran David Buggy out the field and it immediately paid rich dividends with Buggy shooting nine points in the second half. With some beautiful scores coming from both play and frees some of the scores were of the highest order with most of the forwards getting in on the act. The last quarter was a very close affair as both teams went for the victory. On the full time whistle both teams had a share of the spoils on a score line of Comer 2-15 to Lisdowneys 1-18. This result guarantees Erin’s Own a place in the knockout stages of the competition where they will take on Kilmacow this weekend.
