The U 14 Erin’s Own Girls Gaelic football team will travel to Wexford town
in late June to take part in Feile 2015 under the management of John Cahalan
and his mentors, Eugene Dowling, John Moore & Fiona Maher.
This is an exciting challenge for the young girls, most of whom are only
playing Gaelic for 1-2 years. The team are presently doing well in the
Carlow League and train weekly in either the Prince or Ballycomey.
The Gaelic football club has become an important part of close to 100 girls
lives in Castlecomer and surrounding parishes, ranging from U 8 up to Junior
level. They have a nice collection of silverware to boast after a short time
on the football scene, huge recognition for this must go to Andy Korff who
got it off the ground in 2012.
