Erins Own under 14s picked up another two points in the league when they entertained Piltown on Sunday evening last in Ballycomey. Played in ideal conditions the Comer boys started well and were a goal to the good after two minutes when Cathal Holland broke through from mid field to open the scoring with a goal. This was followed by a second from a great ground stroke from John Dowd. Piltown kept in touch with a few lovely points but could not clay back the early Comer goals and heading to the break comer led on a score line of 3-5 to 0-5 following some great point taking from play and frees by Comers stand out player Sean Buggy. Comer continued the second half in the same vain as they finished the first with James Brennan adding a delightful goal.
At this stage Comer were on top all over and the backs were driving plenty of ball down the field. Comer added a fifth goal through Sean Buggy and points from Ross Connonly and James Brennan giving the Comer boys a comprehensive victory on a score line of 5-12 to 0-13. This was a complete team performance where all the team contributed to the result.
