Our Under 8’s had their first outing of the year in the County Board arranged Go Games Blitz in Johns Park, Kilkenny, home of O’Loughlin Gaels. Their numbers were reduced to 10 players per team based on rules put down by the County Board.
The first match was versus Graigue Ballycallan. Comer led at half time one score to nil (goals and points carried the same score). Ground hurling obviously restricted our lads as when they were allowed to rise the ball in the second half they completely took over and ran out clear winners 8 -1. They went on to play Galmoy in the second game and played even better finally winning by 10- 1. The final game had Comer up against Freshford. It was an even first half for a long time 1- 1 was the score then Comer got 2 scores coming up to half time to lead 3 – 1. In the second half defense remained strong and didn’t concede any more scores. They went on the win 8 – 1 to complete a great days work.
Well done to Managememt Eamon Doyle and Seamus Coogan, ably assisted by waterboys Killian Hogan and Cathal Holland.
The panel was Luca downey, Ashley Kerr, Kevin Holland, Cathal O’Reilly, Shane Coogan, Lee Holden, Darragh O’Rourke, Kevin Smyth, Jamie Maher and James Hogan.
