Kilkenny went down to neighbours Laois in Ballycomey on Saturday,with an injury time goal from Laois substitute Jimmy Dunne securing victory on a 1-17 to 1-16 score line.
Dunne struck two minutes into injury time after Willie Hylandâs 30 yard free was blocked down.
The Kilkenny side contained most of last years U21 side, as the management team continue their search for new talent.
Laois held a two point advantage at half time 0-11 to 0-9. Kilkenny took the lead midway through the second half, when a long delivery found its way to the net of the keepers hurl, Laois to their credit, fought back to snatch the victory.
local Conor Fogarty impressed having a very solid game at left wing back for the cats.
